About
Haiti Hope Fund was established in 1993 by Harold and Ivah Heneise, following their 45 years of missionary service in Haiti. The organization name at that time was ICEF, the International Christian Education Fund, Inc., established as a 501c 3 tax exempt non-profit organization. The original purpose of ICEF was to provide a way for people to send financial support to the Haitian Baptist Theological Seminary (STBH) at Limbe, Haiti, and receive official IRS tax credit for their donations. STBH later became North Haiti Christian University (UCNH), with over 350 students enrolled in 2009-2010. Over the years the vision of Haiti Hope Fund has not wavered: to see Haiti transformed by God’s power, working through His people. The mission of Haiti Hope Fund has expanded to include rural primary schools, rural clinics, and the North Haiti Music Camp, as well as providing ongoing support for the programs of UCNH. Harold and Ivah have since passed away, but the ministry of Haiti Hope Fund has continued with the involvement of their son, Ken, his wife Debbie, and their son Ryan and daughter Carly.

Hello,
For a while I have searched over sustainable development projects in Haiti and opportunities for volunteering/work/aid that come with these projects. Currently I am a student at the University of Massachusetts of Amherst(United Sates) majoring in Sustainable Development & Social Thought and Political Economy. I am involved in a program that has recently been started called “A Continuous Effort for Haiti’s Educational and Economical Change”. We are planning a long term project to enforce agricultural sustainability in Haiti by creating a University and bio fuel farming co-op. However, I would like to go to Haiti and work there now, it’s a driving necessity that I need to fulfill. I wish to volunteer/work/be of use in a sector where help is
necessary, allowed and most importantly effective. I must go to Haiti
and be productive in some manner; if you may, please let me know of any
sort of volunteering options that are offered by this group; I would highly appreciate your consideration.
I would also take this opportunity to start networking for my University project and hopefully raise awareness in the area. I am willing to devote my entire summer thus would be able to go to Haiti as
soon as possible (as long as there is more information for me) until late August; I am a native French speaker (fluent) as well. Please let me know if there is anything I can do.
Best,
Adrien Tofighi

Hello Adrien,
North Haiti Christian University (UCNH) for which Haiti Hope Fund provides support, has a School of Agriculture. It may be possible that the faculty would be interested in your project and your need to do some volunteer work in Haiti. Please contact me at my email address: ken@haitihopefund.org for us to discuss this further.

Hello
My name is Esther Georges and I want to know how I can help. I was born in Haiti but I left when I was about four years old. I have never been back to Haiti but recently I felt that I needed to do something to give back. I have been researching different nonprofits that are located in Haiti. I would love to volunteer with your organization and if possible gain employment. I would like to commit a year or two of my services in Haiti. I look forward to hearing from you and speaking with you.
Thank You,
Esther Georges
Hi Esther,
So glad to hear about your interest in Haiti. The first thing we need to do is to receive a resume from you describing your work and volunteer experience and a statement of your Christian faith. Send your email to ken@haitihopefund.org
Hello,
We are friends of the Lilites in Shawnee, and we are praying that you are all okay after the earthquake. You are in our prayers and we look forward to hearing how you are all doing.
